SMS & consent

How clients opt in to SMS

How Mour operators obtain and record their clients' consent before any text message is sent.

Who receives Mour SMS

Mour is scheduling and job-management software for independent field-service operators — lawn care, cleaning, mobile detailing, and similar one-person businesses. The people who receive text messages are the operator's own service clients (for example, a homeowner whose lawn the operator maintains). Mour sends these messages on the operator's behalf under Mour's A2P 10DLC business-messaging registration with Twilio. The sending brand is Mour.

How a client opts in

Consent is collected by the operator at the point of service:

  1. When a client books a service or is set up as a customer, the operator asks the client for permission to send SMS updates about their appointments and invoices.
  2. The operator adds the client in the Mour app and enters the client's mobile number.
  3. Entering a phone number reveals a required consent checkbox — unchecked by default — that the operator must tick to confirm the client agreed:

This client has agreed to receive SMS updates about their services. You confirm the client consented to appointment, invoice and reminder texts from your business. Frequency varies; msg & data rates may apply. They can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

No SMS is ever sent to a client until that box is checked. The screenshot below shows the consent checkbox exactly as it appears in the app:

If a client later replies STOP, their number is blocked immediately and no further messages are sent.

What messages clients receive

  • Transactional service notifications — appointment scheduled, completed, rescheduled, or cancelled; invoice sent; payment received.
  • Occasional service reminders and offers (Professional plan only) — sent only to clients who have consented.

Message frequency varies with each client's service schedule. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out and help

  • STOP — reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any Mour SMS to stop all messages from that business immediately. Reply START to resubscribe.
  • HELP — reply HELP to any Mour SMS to receive support information: "Mour alerts. For support: support@mour.app. Reply STOP to unsubscribe."

Consent and privacy

Operators are contractually responsible for obtaining each client's consent before enabling SMS — see the Terms of Service (§9). Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; numbers are disclosed only to Twilio to deliver the messages. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.
